Now, forgive me, but I have never been able to say that I'm proud of my country because I've never really felt it. Even on September 11th, I was not proud of my country. Actually, I was ESPECIALLY not proud of my country on that day and for several years afterwards. We were united, yes, but it took a horrific act of our people dying to bring us together and that should NEVER HAPPEN. And not only were we united by tragedy, we were united in hate for others and that, my friends, is horseshit! We should never be united in hatred towards anyone.
But tonight, I can safely say that I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!!! I have never really felt pride for my country. I have never really felt pride in saying that I am an American. Tonight has completely changed me. My state, New Hampshire, is a Red state, a Republican state. Barack Obama charmed my state into voting for him. Tonight, we are decidedly a Blue state, a Democratic state, a state for Obama.
I have never felt such pride for my country and the people within it. I can now PROUDLY say that I am an American. I can finally feel pride in being an American. This is such an amazing feeling, you really have no idea. This is no longer a false or forced pride for anyone, I imagine, or I can only hope. As Barack Obama himself said, "there has never been anything false about hope" and this has never been more true than right now. I have HOPE for my future, for the future of my children, for the future of my friend's children, for the future of America, for the future of the world.
I am so proud of my state for rallying behind Obama. I am so proud of my sister for voting. I am so proud of my mother for registering to vote. And, above all, I am so proud of my country for making a great decision. America, we have done something right!!!
Throughout Obama's victory speech, I had tears streaming down my face. His victory swells in the hearts of Americans. He has rekindled hope in America. His speech hit home on so many levels. He spoke about the parents who stay up late after their kids go to bed and wonder how they are going to pay their mortage. And that hit home so hard because I know that my mother stays up and cries some nights because she doesn't know how she's going to pay our rent. She cries because she doesn't know how she's going to clothe us. She cries because she doesn't know how she's going to feed us. But under Barack Obama I feel that she won't have to cry for much longer because Obama he is fighting for my mother. He has OUR agenda on his mind, not a twisted political agenda.
It's a beautiful thing we have going on here now...
Tonight is beautiful...
America has never been so beautiful...
I love you all.

"A new dawn of American leadership is at hand"
"We've proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth but from the enduring power of our ideals. Democracy! Liberty! Oppurtunity! And unyielding hope!"
"What change will they see? What progress will we have made? This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time. "
"While we breathe, we hope."
"Yes, we can!"
